December 2020 Update

Updated: Dec 8, 2020

I have a confession, at our house we started putting up Holiday decorations in mid-November. It was nice. We took our time, laid the memories on thick, and have just been trying to keep spirits high while at home. We didn't get a tree until after Thanksgiving when the tree farms were actually open, but we did spend more time reflecting on traditions and family this year, instead of just being caught up with the festivities. December 20th will mark one year since I have seen my brothers or mother, it has been even longer since I have been with the rest of the family. May everyone stay safe, happy, and grateful this holiday season. Meanwhile, myself and my holiday socks will be using my easel non-stop during all the snow days.

Keep creating.

This holiday season I am offering twelve 12"x12" landscape paintings for sale. The catch is they won't be revealed until, you guessed it, the individual twelve days of Christmas!

Starting December 1, 2020 the paintings will be revealed online at 9am EST one-by-one over a twelve day span via social media. The last work will be revealed on December 12. All paintings are oil on canvas and are framed in silver contour floater frames. Prices include shipping but not tax. All items will be shipped via UPS.

Each work will be shared on my instagram and facebook (@kerstinglaessart), and a time-lapse videos of myself painting some of the works will be available on my youtube channel.

On November 19, I launched my first non-news related blog post.

In the post I share the brands of tools and supplies that I use through the creation process of an oil painting, from inspiration and painting to clean-up. I also share some tid-bits about how I organize my studio.

You can read the full post here.

Unfortunately, I am no longer accepting 2020 holiday commissions (aka commissions that will arrive just before mid December). However, my 2021 slots are officially open! If you are interested in having a custom piece created and delivered in time for Valentine's Day, please reach out!

In September 2020 sharing time-lapse videos on my Instagram of myself painting works at hyper-speed. The hope was to allow my audience a small glimpse into the creation process behind a palette knife oil painting. Its a different viewing experience watching my decision making live from start to end.

You can watch over fourteen full length time-lapse videos on my youtube channel right now including some of the time-lapses for the landscapes included in the 12 Days of Christmas Collection. Click the video below to start the playlist.
